Lawson Road four kilometres from Telkwa is washed out after over 50 mm of rain fell in the area over three days.

Billabong Road and Bridge Maintenance plans to repair the damage Tuesday, May 16. The company recommends an alternate route using the Lawson connector via Highway 16.

The average rainfall for May at the Smithers airport is about 35 mm.
