It is a very bad place to get stuck.

A Jeep became caught in the mud on Hudson Bay Mountain's alpine, and it will likely stay there until a way is found to get it off this weekend.

It is illegal to drive any motorized vehicle during the summer on the alpine unless a Hudson Bay Mountain employee, and they stick to designated routes.

Conservation officer Kevin Nixon said the maximum penalty for causing the environmental damage is $100,000.

A message from Hudson Bay Mountain Resort, which is the caretaker of the mountain, said photo surveillance and barriers are in place to catch and prevent the irresponsible off-roading.
