Hwy 16 re-opened at South Hazelton

Downed power lines closed Hwy 16 by South Hazelton.

UPDATE: Highway re-opened and power restored to New Hazelton customers.

Highway 16 at South Hazelton was reported closed by DriveBC during the lunch hour Wednesday.

The cause was described as downed Hydro lines.

An assessment is in progress. There is a detour via South Hazelton.

The estimated time of re-opening is 2 p.m.
