High winds are expected to blow across parts of the central interior and Bulkley Valley on Thursday, according to an Environment Canada weather warning.

An intense Pacific cold front will approach the B.C. central coast on Thursday and move into the central interior by evening, the warning says.

Ahead of the cold front, residents can expect southeasterly winds to blow from 30 km/h to 50 km/h until Thursday afternoon. The forecast also calls for gusts of up to 70 km/h and light snow.

By Thursday evening, the steady winds are expected to switch to gusts from the west or southwest, which may reach speeds of nearly 90 km/h in some areas.

A second Pacific storm is expected to hit the interior on Saturday, Nov. 26.
