On June 5 at 1:00 p.m. the RCMP received a request to assist BC Ambulance with a collision between two dirt bikes that had resulted in injuries.

Police attended Coalmine Road, and observed an orange dirt bike on its side, with a 15-year-old male on a spine board being loaded into an ambulance for transport to the Bulkley Valley Regional Hospital.

The second bike and driver, who was a 47-year-old male, had left the scene and was later located and stopped by police. The male admitted that he had collided with the oncoming dirt bike. Both motor bikes did not have insurance at the time of the incident, which was on a provincial roadway.

One witness to the incident corroborated the information provided by male. The teen stayed the night in the hospital, but had sustained only minor injuries.

Both male received violation tickets under the Motor Vehicle Act for no insurance.
