Darcy Repen enters race for Telkwa mayor

Village of Telkwa: Repen, Darcy — Mayoral Candidate

  • Oct. 27, 2014 5:00 a.m.

Darcy Repen hopes to eliminate wasteful and unnecessary spending if elected as mayor. He said there needs to be more transparency and engagement with the community and hopes to achieve that by going door knocking before and after the election. His priority is to upgrade the village’s water supply, focus on taking care of “essential infrastructure” and working on reducing property taxes. “I’m not a politician and I think it’s a positive to have someone come in who doesn’t have any experience on council and who doesn’t bring their pre-determined approach to it and for me it’s important to tap into the experience of community members,” said Repen.
