Community Futures Nadina to relocate in April

Over the next three months there will be changes to Community Futures Nadina as they relocate to an undetermined smaller office space.

Community Future Nadina isn’t closing their doors.

However, over the next three months there will be changes to the organization as they relocate to an undetermined smaller office space.

Pauline Goertzen, Operations and Contract Manager, said that the employment and self-employment contracts are being re-shaped into a new model for the province with a new contractor.

Community Futures Nadina, said Goertzen, decided they did not have the resources to pursue a contract and declined to enter the bidding process for the employment services contract.

Community Futures’ role in economic development projects, small business coaching and lending programs for entrepreneurs will continue, she said.

“Just in a smaller location in Smithers.”

The Community Futures Nadina service region runs from south of Burns Lake to Smithers, with the main administrative and lending services provided out of the Houston office.

The new WorkBC Employment Program will continue to provide services to the Smithers and Houston area beginning April 2. The new contractor and service location has not been announced yet.

“Community Futures of Nadina has been assured the Ministry is committed to a smooth and seamless transition process, with minimal disruption of services to the various shared clients and is encouraging clients, or anyone who wants to know more about this process to look at the Community Futures Nadina website for ongoing updates, or call us at 250-847-1389.” said Goertzen.
