Two people were sent to the hospital after a car accident on Highway 16 near The Igloo, approximately 10 km north of town, on Thursday evening.
A male occupant had to be freed from his vehicle following the collision.
The accident occurred when a vehicle was waiting on the highway to make a left turn onto Nouche Road. A van approached from behind and, due to lack of attention, the driver could not respond quick enough to avoid a collision. Both vehicles had extensive damage.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
The driver of the van was served a violation ticket for driving without due care and attention.
The RCMP have reminded the motoring public to remain attentive at all times while driving.
