RCMP are investigating a woman's death on a residential street in Telkwa.

The RCMP are not saying much about the investigation into a Telkwa woman's death.

Reached for comment on Nov. 21, Cpl. Dan Moskaluk, the senior media relations officer for the RCMP's Southeast and North District, said there wasn't anything more to say about the investigation at this time, except that an autopsy was done on the woman.

"The autopsy was completed however autopsy results are not being released at this time," he told The Interior News.

At some point in the early morning hours of Nov. 11, Smithers RCMP, along with the B.C. Ambulance Service and local fire service members attended a scene upon receiving a report of an injured woman in Telkwa. She was rushed to the Bulkley Valley District hospital but later died of her injuries.

The death is being considered possibly criminal and a man was arrested that day but was later released without charges.

Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is asked to call the Smithers detachment at 250-847-3233, or call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
