The Smithers Fire Department, with the help of the Telkwa Fire Department are battling a blaze that engulfed the former Al's Custom Auto Body building behind Bulkley Valley Wholesale. Eye witnesses reported seeing an explosion followed by a mushroom cloud of smoke when the fire started.
