Advance voting starts Friday

Advance voting for the federal election starts Oct. 9, but people can vote now at Elections Canada offices by writing their preference.

Advance voting starts this Friday, Oct. 9, and runs through Thanksgiving Monday, but voters can write who they want to represent them in Parliament any time before 6 p.m. on Oct. 13.

The newest way to vote ahead of the Oct. 19 election is by way of writing your preferred candidate's name on a special ballot. Anyone wanting to do so, or seeking more information on registration, can visit the Elections Canada office in Smithers at 3767 Second Avenue near Main Street.
