Terrace River Kings defeat Hazelton Wolverines 8-4 at Terrace Sportsplex

The Terrace River Kings defeated the Hazelton Wolverines 8-4 in an action-packed game Nov. 30 at the Terrace Sportsplex. 

Ryan Roseboom opened the scoring for Terrace just 17 seconds into the game with a powerplay goal. Zachary Gull extended the lead to 2-0 before Tanner Wort scored for Hazelton to make it 2-1. Gull’s second goal of the night put Terrace up 3-1 at the end of the first period.

Terrace maintained their momentum in the second period. Connor Onstein struck first, scoring at 4:07 during a powerplay. Jackson Mulder followed up with a goal at 12:02, and Ryan Roseboom capped the period with his second goal of the night at 16:17, once again capitalizing on a powerplay. Hazelton responded with two goals, one from Sean Maktaak on a powerplay and another from Carson Pawlenchuk, also on a powerplay, narrowing the gap slightly but leaving Terrace in control at 7-3 heading into the final period.

Chapen Leblond scored short-handed for Terrace just 21 seconds into the frame. Pawlenchuk added another powerplay goal for Hazelton at 6:11 to round out the scoring.

The Terrace River Kings sit atop the league standings with an impressive 9-1 record and 18 points after 10 games. The Hazelton Wolverines are holding strong in third place with 13 points, thanks to six wins in 10 games. 

Up next, Terrace will host the Quesnel Kangaroos on Dec. 7 at the Terrace Sportsplex. The Wolverines are set to travel to Williams Lake for a Dec. 8 matchup against the Stampeders.
