Ann and Philip Maher prevail in Mr and Mrs tourney

The Smithers couple shot a two-day total of 151 to win the 2024 championship

This year Ann and Philip Maher did not have to settle for the net prize at the Mr. and Mrs. Golf Tournament in Smithers.

The Smithers couple posted a first-round 73 and second-round 78 for tournament total of 151 and a 10-stroke victory to take the 2024 title.

On the net side, it was Hope and Larry Lutz who combined for a blistering 16-under-par two-day total.

The tournament hosted 48 couples in three Mr. and Mrs. flights and seven pairs in one His and Hers flights. Participants came from as far east as Prince George and as far west as Prince Rupert.

Once again the Smithers business community stepped up to support the tournament allowing organizers to go five-deep in gross prizes and four-deep in net prizes.
