Christmas is approaching fast, ski-season is starting soon and snow is falling. Take the opportunity to get cozy, shop local, and connect with the Smithers community this holiday season!

Over the next month, there are several craft fairs where you can buy locally-sourced gifts to wrap, and put under your tree.

SSS Craft Fair will be held Nov. 24 from 6-9 p.m. and Nov. 25 from 9-3 p.m. at Smithers Secondary School, 4408 3 Ave, Smithers

Artisans from across the North will be selling soap, honey, toys, baked goods, and more! There is a $2 admission, with proceeds from the fair going toward increasing learner support and outdoor education activities at SSS.

One of a Kind will be held Nov. 24 to Dec. 24, during open hours, at the Smithers Art Gallery

This fair will feature “high quality” crafts, intended to uphold the gallery’s mission of “creating community through art.” During the submission process, Indigenous artisans were encouraged to apply.

Christmas in the Valley will be held Nov. 24 and Nov. 25, during open hours, in downtown Smithers

Shop alongside Christmas carollers, Santa Claus, and horse-drawn wagon rides. Smithers’ merchants will participate in the annual event, showcasing locally-made gifts in their shops and as sidewalk vendors.

Christmas at the Lodge will be held Dec. 1 from 4-8 p.m and Dec. 2 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at Banner Mountain-Lodge, 12753 Babine Lake Rd, Smithers

Enjoy handmade treasures and the opportunity for family photos, while enjoying the picturesque view of the Babine mountain range. Food and drinks will be available.

Ebenezer Christmas Market will be held Dec. 2 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Ebenezer School, 685 Viewmount Rd N, Smithers

This market will feature unique artisan works, as most vendors are not selling their items at other markets. Purchase wreaths, hand-crafted wood items, and pies.

Christmas Tea and Bazaar will be held Dec. 2 from 12-3 p.m. at Paul Lychak Evelyn Community Hall, 3242 HWY 16, Smithers

Enjoy a cup of tea while you shop for Christmas gifts, crafted by local artisans. There is a $5 admission, which will cover a light lunch.

Telkwa Festive Craft Market will be held Dec. 9 from 2-5 p.m. at Telkwa Community Hall, 1390 Birch St, Telkwa

What do you want for Christmas? Write Santa a letter, and do some holiday shopping at the Telkwa market. Bring cash, as not all vendors take cards.

Yuletide Bazaar will be held Dec. 10 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at The Old Church, 3704 1 Ave, Smithers

Shop for gifts made by local vendors, accompanied by live piano music to raise your holiday spirits. This event is one of BV Social Collectives’ “Back Alley Bazaar” events.

Christmas Flea Market will be held Dec. 15 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. at The Old Church, 3704 1 Ave, Smithers

Enjoy Ukrainian food and sweets, while you shop for last-minute Christmas presents. This market is organized by Smithers B.C. Helps Ukraine, with all the proceeds going to support people in Ukraine.
