Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers had a positive 2024, calling it an 'exceptional year.'
In 2024, the program received a total of 979 tips.
Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers serves more than 30 communities across northern British Columbia by taking tips north to the Yukon Border, south to Williams Lake, west to Terrace/Kitimat and east to the Alberta border.
Also, last year, they recovered $11,200 in property and $75,500 in cash.
The program also helped get $284,700 worth of drugs off the streets in 2024.
The program is now in its 40th year and has almost reached the $40 million mark in total property, cash and drugs seized since 1985.
There are two ways to submit a tip to Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers anonymously 24/7, 365 days a year.
People have the option of calling 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) and providing information to a trained operator or tips can be submitted through their website.
