Three fire departments responded to a fire that ripped through a property on Ebenezer flats in Smithers on the evening of June 14 causing damage to buildings vehicles and landscape.
Smithers Fire Rescue Fire Chief Alle Jan de Vries said crews responded at 9:05 p.m. to the property and were on scene for approximately seven hours.
There were 15 firefighters on scene from Smithers Fire. In addition, they had one apparatus from Telkwa Fire with three firefighters and one apparatus from Houston Fire with five firefighters.
"I am very impressed with the work of all the firefighters on scene and would like to express my thanks to not only the firefighters from Smithers but also the crews from Telkwa and Houston," de Vries said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
There were no injuries.
There has been no disclosure of the amount of damage.
