The annual Festival of Trees has been deemed roaring success.
Glacier Toyota in Smithers once again hosted the event that ran the first week of December raising more than $30,000, up slightly from last year.
The festival transformed the dealership’s showroom into a winter wonderland filled with Christmas trees donated by local businesses and organizations. People bid on the trees, and other items, up for auction.
All the money will go to the Northwest Child Development Centre (NWCDC).
The Northwest Child Development Centre’s team said the funds raised this season will help increase their accessibility resources for children and youth, as well as program enhancements at the regional centre in Smithers.
This centre supports various group activities, including playgroups, life skills and parenting support for children, youth and their families.
