Police arrested several people and seized guns, drugs and cash during a search warrant in South Hazelton on Feb. 21.
The New Hazelton RCMP, Emergency Response Teams from BC and the Yukon and the Police Dog Service, along with RCMP members from neighbouring detachments, executed search warrants on three properties.
Police found and seized a loaded short barrel shotgun, a 30-06 rifle, a handgun, a flare gun loaded with a 12-gauge shotgun round, $5,000 cash, multiple cell phones, packaging materials, suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine and over 400 prescription dilaudid and morphine pills.
Several people were arrested and could face multiple charges including drug trafficking and weapons offences.
“We continue to focus enforcement in our ongoing efforts to help stop the toxic drug supply plaguing the area,” said Acting Cpl. Blain Vandewetering of the New Hazelton RCMP.
