The annual Christmas in the Valley in Smithers will be two days, instead of one this year.
On Friday, Nov. 24 and Saturday, Nov. 25, there will be carollers, wagon rides, street vendors and some retail stores along Main Street will be open late.
“This year with less strict health recommendations we are putting on the full Christmas in the Valley event,” explained Grant Harris of the Smithers Merchants Association.
“Wear your plaid and be sure to enter to win some of the thousands of dollars in gift prizes while shopping your favourite merchants.”
There will carollers from Smithers Secondary school as well as a group put together by Sharon Carrington singing in the street throughout the evening on Friday. The Smithers Community Band will be playing on Saturday. B and T Wagon rides will be offering rides throughout the downtown core on Friday evening and on Saturday.
“We must say thanks for the Northwest Guide Outfitters for their support of the wagon,” added Harris.
“Of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be greeting the crowds and among the many other not-for-profit sidewalk tables with treats, crafts, and goodies you will also find emergency services with their hot dog and hot chocolate booth.”
