Forty years may seem like a long time, but for someone who loves his job he couldn’t see why he’d choose to do something other than glazing.

This Sunday is the Annual Spring Fling in Hazelton, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will an outdoor flea market, a children’s favourite toy parade, egg decorating with the Arts council and food vendors.

On March 1, 2011, the Bulkley Valley Research Centre hosted almost 50 members and guests at its annual general meeting, held at the Aspen Inn’s Riverside Grill in Smithers. The AGM and awards ceremony recognized individuals and research that have contributed to sustainability in northwestern B.C.

The Smithers Healthy Living Centre held a brown bag lunch event last Thursday, informing 16 community members about local resources for people with cancer, as well as their families. RN Alice Christensen spoke to the crowd about available resources, as well as providing general information on cancer prevention, detection and treatment.
