Christmas time isn’t just overwhelming for humans, it can be stressful for pets too.
Anne Dopson, a dog behaviourist, has been holding weekly sessions at Total Pet in Terrace to help the public learn how to keep their canine behaved during the holiday season and to raise money for the Northern Animal Rescue Alliance (NARA).
Classes are offered by donation.
Total Pet also held a ‘Photo with Santa Paws’ event to fundraise for NARA.

Dopson, who has fostered and adopted animals through NARA, says that the holidays are an unfortunate time for animal rescue agencies as many pets are given as gifts and then abandoned in the winter cold.
NARA does not have a shelter to take care of stray animals in and crucially relies on volunteers to foster rescues in their own homes.
Visit their Facebook page for more information on how you can help your fellow furry companions.
Dopson is offering two more classes this month on Dec. 13 and Dec. 20. Both begin at 6:00 p.m at Total Pet.
