The money helped build 125 hampers for Houston.

Each family received a turkey and hamburger meat in addition to the traditional items in the hamper.

The Christmas Kettles campaign met its overall goal though the numbers were down from last year.

Food donations in Smithers were up dramatically this season in large part due to the Hudson Bay Lodge Santa Breakfast, Extra Foods Fill the Bin Campaign and Safeway’s heavy promotion of $5 and $10 food bags at the cash register.
