Smithers Christmas Hampers needs boxes for their depot

Christmas Hamper organizers are desperately seeking cardboard boxes for their hampers.

Christmas Hamper organizers are desperately seeking cardboard boxes for their hampers.

They have been coming up shorter than usual in their search and some of the boxes they already had collected were damaged recently

They are hoping people will come forward with some boxes now. They say the boxes they need are about apple-box size, or essentially one with a 40-50 lbs capacity. Anyone with any to spare is asked to call their depot at 250-847-4494.

Meanwhile they still go ahead in raising food. The transit bus will be parked at Safeway on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The attempt is to fill the bus with donated food from shoppers.
