Skeena TV Association holds AGM

The Skeena TV Association held their annual AGM last week. Elections were held and there is no changes this year and members were given an update on the financials and the progress with adding three new channels this year. Although they are waiting for a technician from the Lower Mainland, they are proceeding with a new digital channel this summer which will allow them to broadcast three channels off of one. Currently they are hoping to bring the History Channel, TSN and a movie channel.

In addition, as of May 2nd the Ocean radio station was no longer available and 105.9 has now returned to CHQM out of Vancouver.

Other discussions were about the new TV in the doctors clinic at Wrinch Memorial Hospital which they donated and the placement of a plaque stating so and a second TV was donated to the Northwest Community College Hazelton campus. They have also ordered more antenna’s for customers wishing to take advantage of the free television which currently offers six channels which are CBC, CTV, Global, CHEK, Knowledge Network and Discovery. Antenna’s will be available at Beertema’s in Old Hazelton. For more information email skeena.tv.assoc@gmail. com.
