School district hires assistant superintendent

School District 54 has hired an assistant superintendent, who will start at the beginning of August.

Board Chairperson Les Kearns announced the appointment last week, and was pleased to welcome Michael McDiarmid to the SD54 staff.

McDiarmid, he said, brings “considerable school and district administration experience.”

“Mr. McDiarmid’s experience, values, and commitment to public education as well as his experience in northern B.C. will fit well within the culture of our school district,” Kearns said.

McDiarmid has spent the last five years as the principal of Fort St. James Secondary School in School District 91.
