Using four haul systems, crews rescued the horse Friday

A horse is back in its stable after a rather elaborate rescue mission by Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue and police.

The horse fell down a steep embankment Friday.

When crews arrived, a veterinarian was able to reach the bottom of the embankment and the horse was sedated.

Rescue crews used four haul systems to lift the horse up the slope.

The owner of the horse took to Facebook to thank the volunteers and police.
