Park yourself at open house

The Town of Smithers is taking a look at the community’s parking regulations and are welcoming comments.

Among the changes being considered is increasing the cash-in-lieu fee from $5,500 to $11,000 per parking space.

The Town is holding an open house and roundtable discussion on the matter.

The drop-in open house runs from 4 to 6 p.m. on May 25.

The drop-in will allow people to view the draft changes, ask questions and provide feedback to the town council.

A roundtable discussion, to follow the drop-in starting at 6 p.m., will provide further opportunity to discuss the draft changes.

Background information can be found at smithers.ca.

Written submissions can be forwarded to Alison Walker, town planner, until 4 p.m. on May 25.
