The next exhibit at the Smithers Art Gallery will be a feature of paintings by Linda Lundquist-Fraser.

The exhibit opens Aug. 30 and runs to Sept. 24.

She has painted in oil, watercolour, pastels and currently works in acrylic.

She is an award winning artist through the Federation and Oceanside Arts Council.

Linda will also offer a workshop on painting. On Sept. 8 people can join her for a BreakThru Noon artist talk where she will demonstrate an acrylic painting technique called the Seven Steps of Painting.

Registration is not required for the noon event but people are welcome to bring food for lunch.

Linda will also be working on her paintings throughout September and people are encouraged to stop in and see her at work.

Linda grew up on her family’s farm in Smithers and has been a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists for the past 12 years.

“Growing up in Northern B.C. ... inspired me to paint and capture the moment,” she said in her artist’s statement. “I have always believed that life is an adventure or nothing at all.”
