Kispiox rodeo coming this weekend

This weekend is the 64th Annual Kispiox Valley Rodeo and it is shaping up to be another stellar year according to organizer Joy Allen who is excited to welcome all the contestants.

“I would like to extend a big western welcome to each and every one of the rodeo fans and a huge thanks to all our 127 volunteers that make this event happen,” she said. “This is also the 15th year for Kispiox Drill team who are an incredible group of riders andthey are the second largest drill team in Canada.”

Things kick off on Thursday night at 7 p.m. with the Rodeo Queen Contest Horsemanship Competiiton.

Friday at noon the camping opens at on Friday night things get in to full swing with the annual Dance to where people will be dancing to the music of Mustang Heart in the Main Hall.

Saturday is when all the action starts and to start things off their will be a pancake breakfast with the 4 Fat Fryers. At 10 a.m there will be horse drawn wagon rides with the Semschucks before things get underway in the BCRA Sanctioned Rodeo at 1 p.m.

Saturday night is the popular Western Idol Contest followed by the family dance at 10 p.m.

Sunday will start out with another pancake breakfast and Horse drawn wagon rides and the final day of rodeo action will start again at 1 p.m.

This year the Rodeo T-Shirts are boasting a Roy Henry Vickers design again and people can also pick up limited edition silk screen prints, limited edition buckles and much more.
