Are you having a hard time to find something to get that someone in your life that has everything? How bout giving a $25 donation in their name to the Deck the Walls Campaign?

The Deck the Walls with Boughs of Hardy Campaign just started and its goal is to help insulate and reside Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Witset.

Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church was built by community members at the turn of the century and is in its original state with the exception of the roof; the building does not have any water or sewer. Estimates for the work of shedding the old and strapping on the new insulation and hardy board is $25 per square foot ($22,880 total cost).

The church is an important historical building and architecturally beautiful structure that operates as a place of worship twice a week. Hardy board siding along with the metal roof with help protect the church from loss to forest fire.

Statistics Canada shows that the average household income in Witset is almost half that of the rest of the Bulkley Valley so here is your chance to help your neighbor and give the gift of hope! Anyone wanting to support the Deck the Walls with Boughs of Hardy Campaign can drop off a cheque to the Bulkley Valley Credit Union made out to “Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church”. Income tax receipts will be issued if you have your name and address on the cheque.

We hope this makes Christmas a little brighter for everyone in Witset and will help to ease the grief and sadness from their many losses this year.
