While coffee houses are nothing new to the Hazeltons, having one just for children and the young at heart was a first at Mercedes Beans and Model Teas last Friday.
The evening event was designed to be two hours of fun for the little ones and started off with a few children getting up and telling stories, singing songs, playing music and dancing. Organizer Suzy Lemky had treats for everyone and even showed the group how to make butterflies on a stick. Following that a special guest arrived to the surprise of the children who were very excited when they learned he was a magician. Dr. J performed three tricks with the help of his audience and had both the youngsters and adults laughing. Lemky said that she hopes this was the first of more to come and added, she has lots of ideas for future events.
