It might be the last thing on your mind as the summer heats up, but Hudson Bay Mountain Resort is already planning for next season.

Part of the planning always involves sharing feedback from guests and visitors.

“One of the messages we received loud and clear this year is the importance of daily transportation up to the mountain,” said HBMR president Gary Mathiesen.

“So instead of running only on weekends and holidays, we will be running our mountain bus every day we operate this coming season.”

HBMR will also be open three days more than last year, with 114 operational days planned.

Opening day is Nov. 24, 2017 and the last day of operation, Schnai Dai, will be on April 8, 2018.

Hundreds of local and regional residents have taken advantage of the Legendary Local season pass sale offering the lowest prices of the season, which ends May 31.

In the final week of the sale, HBMR offered purchasers a chance to win a free round-trip flight with Central Mountain Air.

The winner of that flight will be announced in June.

“We are already looking forward to a great season ahead,” said Mathiesen.

“Some people count down to Christmas. We’re counting down to Nov. 24.”

That means from May 31, there are only 177 days until opening day.
