In praise of the Telkwa Toilet

Writer says perhaps it won’t be long before the Telkwa Toilet finds its way to Portland.

Generally, I’m disinclined to nurture town rivalries, especially when Smithers outstrips Telkwa in so many ways — except, perhaps, for sheer natural beauty.

One other area where we truly shine is in the Telkwa Toilet (behind Eddy Park). For all the publicity received by the Portland Loo, the Telkwa Toilet is clearly the superlative choice — with its spa-like warmth, comfortable seat, and soothing water issuing from the faucet.

Admittedly the Telkwa Toilet is far from perfect, as I have found the door locked during one too many emergency situations. Also, I have often been grateful to have recourse to the cold austerity of the Portland Loo. Nonetheless, when open, the Telkwa Toilet is one experience which leaves nothing to be desired.

Perhaps it won’t be long before the Telkwa Toilet finds its way to Portland.

Well done.
