August 9, 1921 - September 11, 2008

Born in Hanna, Alta., Bill grew up in Revelstoke, BC, and was a member of the Westminster Regiment during WWII. He worked for the Department of Highways, Construction Branch from 1956 to 1974, then the Highways District in Smithers from 1974 until his retirement in 1986. He served as a cadet officer in Abbotsford and in Smithers, was President of the Navy League and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

He is survived by his wife Betty, children Wendy Wilson & her husband James, Susan Rowe, John Rowe & his wife Heather, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his two sisters and their families.

Bill passed quietly in his sleep at Bulkley Lodge in the early hours of the morning. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful help and dedication of the Lodge staff.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Smithers Branch of the Navy League of Canada, P.O. Box 2328, Smithers, B.C., V0J 2N0 or to the Bulkley Lodge at Box 3640, Smithers, BC, V0J 2N0.

An informal wake will be held at the Smithers Legion from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20.
