Victoria Mary Golder
Victoria ‘Vicki’ passed away peacefully at the Bulkley Lodge in Smithers, BC with family by her side on Saturday, January 23rd at the age of 92.
Vicki was born on December 4, 1923 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England the only child of the late Frederick and Victoria Pickering. She served in the British Army during WWII and that was were that she met her husband to be, Private Hazen R. Golder. They married May 28, 1942. She would later travel, on her own, arriving in Canada as one of the first War Brides to be welcomed in Woodstock, NB.
Vicki is predeceased by her husband Hazen of 54 years (Jan.26, 1996); sons Herbie (1961) and Paul (2012). She is the loved mother of Hazen Jr. (Jane) of Tottingham, ON, Franklin (Anne Bednarz) of Barrie, ON, Dianna Hachey (Charles) of Bathurst, NB, Colin of Diamondhead MS, USA, Elizabeth (Ron LeDrew) of Perth, ON and Harley (Faye) of Telkwa, BC; daughters-in-law Diane of Wahnapitae, ON and Terri of Clovis, New Mexico, USA; sisters-in-law Marian Caldwell (Mark) Stephenville, NFLD, Elizabeth Golder of Bristol, Conn, USA, Ken (Pauline) of Echo Bay, SSM, ON, Audrey Golder of Lively, ON and Carl (Sandra) of Woodstock, NB. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; Nana to 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
