Aug. 16, 1926 to Nov. 16, 2005
Sadly we announce the passing of a dear husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Stewart was born near Bigger, Saskatchewan to Marguerite (Peggy) and Walter Forsyth. He worked hard on the family farm even as a child. In 1947, after once more experiencing poor crops, he left to come to B.C. to look for work. He found work, met a young woman, Ruby Gilgan, whom he married on June 11, 1949. Together they were blessed with 11 children, John, Susanne, Bill, Bernice, Margaret, Stewart Jr., Robert, Andrew, Alan, Theresa, and David, 18 grandchildren, 2 foster grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many loving sisters and brothers, nephews and nieces and friends.
Stewart was a hardworking man. During his lifetime he had a successful logging, sawmilling business besides developing the family farm raising black angus cattle. He will be sadly missed. There will be a community tea at the Lion’s Hall in New Hazelton from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Nov. 27. All family and friends are invited.
