BOURDEAU,
Shirley Marie
1928 - 2016
On August 26th, 2016 at the age of 88, quietly and
gently our Mother left this life with family by her side.
And now, we must go on without her.
Shirley is predeceased by husband, Robert (Bob)
Anthony Bourdeau, an infant son, Richard Douglas; by
her parents, George Ross Miller and Lucy Edna Miller
(Hanson); by her sister, Bertha Morrow (Miller),
brothers Bud Miller and wife Shirley Miller, Donnie
Miller and wife Isabel and brother, Ernie Miller;
great-grandchild, Caiden Bourdeau and her dear friend
Philip Hanes.
Shirley is survived by her brother Larry Charles Miller,
her sister-in-law Joann Bell (Doug), her children, Bob
Bourdeau, Sharron MacBride (Phil), Michael Bourdeau
(Anne), Paul Bourdeau (Cheryl), Joe Bourdeau (Maggie)
and Tony Bourdeau….and 28 grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
When life’s journey took Shirley to Smithers she met her
dear friend, Philip Hanes and settled there for 12 years.
She enjoyed The Telkwa and Smithers seniors clubs and
the various sports and activities she participated in and
the friends she made. She was very proud of the bronze,
silver and gold medals she won at the BC Seniors games
as a member of various carpet bowling teams.
As her journey with Alzheimer’s unfolded, Shirley
remained kind and sweet and never lost her wonderful
sense of humour. We are grateful.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society
or Heart and Stroke Fund would be lovely. A memorial
service was held in Thamesville, Ontario on September
9, 2016. Online condolences and donations can be sent
through www.badderfuneralhome.com.
