Robert ‘Ned’ Reid passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 10, 2016, in Quesnel, BC. Ned was born July 23, 1947, in Abbotsford, BC, to Mabel and Thomas Reid. Ned was raised in Wells, BC, where he developed a passion for mining and geology. In 1971, Ned graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science (Geology). Ned was dedicated to career and was very proud of his accomplishments as a Professional Geologist throughout his lifetime. Ned’s work brought him to live in a variety of places including Wells, BC, Whitehorse, YT, Smithers, BC, Saskatoon, SK, and back to Wells, BC and Quesnel, BC for his retirement. Ned is survived by his daughters Katherine Reid and Jeanne MacNeil (Lee); two granddaughters - Addison and Makenna; and his brother Marvin Reid (Diana). The family would like to thank Fran McPherson and Leslie Wright for their help through Ned’s final weeks.
