Robert Julian Weme

Robert (Bob) Julian Weme of Lynden, WA passed away on December 31, 2006.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Lois. Son’s: Brent (Patricia), Paul (Shirley), Garth (Cara) & Mark (Terri). Grandchildren: Joshua, Carissa, Kaitlin, Kenneth, Chantel, Celeste, Natalie, Clayton, Brenan, Emma, Danielle, Jordyn, Alex & Micah. Brother, Lorne (Betty). Sister’s: Caroline (Lyle Nelson), Faith (Bela Wouters), Judy (Tom Cochlan), Aunts Bernice Hanson, Emma (Francis Edey).
Bob was born November 22, 1936, in Frontier, Saskatchewan. He completed apprenticeships in both steamfitting and gasfitting in Calgary, Alberta. While there he met his wife, Lois, on a blind date. They were married in Calgary Alberta on October 27, 1961.
Moving to BC early in their marriage, Bob purchased a heating business in 100 Mile House. They re-located the business to Smithers BC in 1969. He operated North Central Plumbing & Heating Ltd. in Smithers till 1986. While there he was very active in the local community. He was a founding member of the Evangelical Free Church, the Lighthouse Bible Book store and Rough Acres Bible camp.
Bob & Lois moved to Seattle, WA in 1987. While in Seattle Bob acquired his realtor licence and spent several years buying, renovating and selling old houses. They moved to Lynden, WA in 1996. While in Lynden Bob enjoyed buying, rebuilding and selling old tractors.
Bob was very hospitable and often entertained his family and friends in their home. His quick wit and fun- loving spirit will be sorely missed. He was a loving, loyal husband and father.
Bob’s courageous 5 year battle with cancer was over on the final day of 2006. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family and was received into the loving arms of his Savior.
