Robert ‘Bob’ Sidney Fowler

December 6, 1928 - December 15, 2014

Bob passed away peacefully on December 15, 2014 in Langley, BC surrounded by family at age 86.

Bob will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Bergie, daughters Shirley (Larry), Brenda (Stephen) and sons Fred (Kendra), Lorne, Roy (Tracy) and grandchildren Carlynn (Pedro), Camron (Erica), Dustin, Brooke, Dylan, Justine, Matthew, Amy as well as 6 great-grandchildren Tristan, Isabella, Owen, Jasmine, Lindsay and Ryder. Bob is also survived by his sisters Muriel and Joyce as well as many nieces and nephews. Bob was pre-deceased by his parents, sisters Mary and Jean and brother George.

Bob and Bergie lived most of their lives in Smithers, B.C. where they raised their children. Bob operated the street sweeper and grader for the Town of Smithers for 32 years and will be fondly remembered for never plowing in elderly persons’ driveways. On retirement, they moved and RVed for many years, of which they loved being snowbirds and spending winters in Yuma, Arizona. Bob and Bergie settled in Southwind Estates in Langley, B.C. where they made many new, close friends.

Bob enjoyed many activities including coaching hockey, gardening and visiting with friends and family. As a young man, Bob was an avid baseball player and continued being a fan. He loved to watch his Vancouver Canucks with Bergie and friends.

A Celebration of Life was held at Southwind Estates, 21164 88th Avenue in Langley, B.C. on December 23rd.
