Ralph Albert George

Born April 24, 1929 in Chama, New Mexico to parents Dewey & Melsina George. Ralph was a very skilled worker in logging, mining, road construction and cattle ranching. He also served for the US Military at Okinawa. In 1969 Ralph, and Katie, packed up their family and worldly possessions and moved from Colorado to the Bulkley Valley. They ran a successful cattle ranch and Ralph also continued to work in the various industries in the valley. Ralph passed away Oct. 29, 2008 very peacefully at home. Ralph knew in his heart that he was ready to be with the Lord. Ralph also loved camping and fishing and the great outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 56 years, Katie. His daughter Dianna (David) Horner of Manhattan Kansas, their children Lugen, Allison and Colleen. Son Tom (Arlene) George of Telkwa, B.C., their children Tyler and Sara. Son Tim (Sharon) George of Smithers, B.C., their children Terry, Charlie, Jennifer, and Cody. Ralph is also survived by his Great Grandchildren, Ian, Mason, Emma, Noah, Liam, Jamie (her daughter Addison), Megan, and Ethan. Also his, brother Dick (Esther) George of Arkansas and his sister Ann Dziuk of Utah, plus many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank you for your prayers and encouragement, food and cards. We are blessed to live in such a great community. A special thank you to Dr. Preto and the palliative care team for your kindness, dedication and wonderful support to Ralph and Katie.

Service was held at R.A. Schrader Funeral Home Chapel Nov. 1, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donation to The Kidney Foundation of Canada B.C. Office at 200-4940 Canada Way, Burnaby, B.C., V5G 4K6.
