After a long four and a half year battle with cancer, Peggy passed away on March 10, 2015 at Wrinch Memorial Hospital in Hazelton, B.C. Peggy will be fondly remembered for her generosity, infectious laugh, big smile, and caring and loving personality. She touched the lives of many, often in the role of surrogate mother.
She is survived by her husband Garry Underhill, daughter Carrie Evenson (Scott) and grandkids, Tyler and Kayla Evenson. She is also survived by her siblings, Carol Eichstaedt, Mike Joseph, Roddy Joseph, Harry Austin Joseph, Audrey George, Ageline Harris, Brenda Austin Joseph, Hazel Culver Joseph, Jamie Joseph, Tiffany Joseph and Vivian Joseph. She had numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins and, of course, her big dog Rusty. She is predeceased by her parents, Hazel and James Joseph and her sisters Darlene Linda Austin and Elaine Joseph.
We would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff of Wrinch Memorial Hospital and the Smithers Cancer Clinic for the exceptional care. A special thank you to her family physician, for the many home visits, compassion, empathy and loving care. A special thank you to Tiffany and Angie, her sisters, for the incredible home care she received from them; Peggy really enjoyed their company. They bolstered her spirits during this difficult time with much needed laughter and warmth.
