Michael Joseph Kelly
Aug. 16, 1968 Ð Sept. 21, 2003
Mike was born on Aug. 16, 1968 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was a fun loving young boy, constantly surrounded by his school friends. He developed a passion for sports trivia, music, and books at an early age. Mike spent his grade eight year in Smithers, but for most of his childhood and adolescence he lived in Prince George, where he leaves behind many devoted friends who will remember him and love him.
Mike devoted his adult years to caring for his parents; he put aside his own aspirations to ensure they were cared for. Mike still managed to find time to complete his high school equivalency and begin post secondary studies at Northwest Community College in Smithers. He was a dedicated student who dreamed of someday becoming a psychologist.
Mike loved discussing and sharing ideas with people and became especially close to his numerous Smithers cousins, the Goodacre’s. He loved animals as much as people and treated them just as well. Everyone knew he would never say no to a request for help.
Mike is lovingly remembered by his father, Joe, of Prince George, B.C., mother, Charlotte, of Smithers, B.C., and sister, Patti, of New Westminster, B.C. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be truly missed and always loved.
The family would like to thank everyone who showed their support in so many ways during this difficult time. Your kindness and caring will always be remembered.
