SIMPSON, Mabel Hilda (May) passed peacefully away July 6, 2008, in the Bulkley Lodge at the age of 100 years, where she had resided for many years. The lodge staff were wonderful to her and she was able to keep them on their toes.

Born to Bill and Mabel Pike on April 27, 1908, in Prince George, she moved to the valley in 1924, marrying Art Simpson on May 9, 1930, and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage.

Through this union they had three children: Florence, Bill and Marge. May helped Art run Simpson’s Transfer for over 20 years. After retiring they both enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and above all, the love of family.

May was predeceased by husband Art, daughter Florence and son Bill.

She is survived by her daughter Marge (Art) Buchanan, daughter-in-law Lorraine Simpson, seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Miss me a little, but not for long.

Go on with your life –

laugh and be strong.

Pallbearers were Daryl, Tom, Jared and Dale Simpson, Lorne Buchanan and Peter Krause. Interment was in the Smithers Cemetery with her beloved husband Art.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Bulkley Lodge for the love and care given to May.
