Lottie (Oliarny) Robinson

June 14, 2006

Robinson (Oliarny) Lottie passed away peacefully on June 14, 2006, in the Bulkley Lodge at the age of 95. Born August 13, 1910, in Stettler, Alberta, to Hank and Edith Lattery.

Lottie was one of 13 children, seven girls and six boys. Lottie attended school in Stettler where she met Pete while he was working on the Lattery farm. They married in 1928 in Vancouver, B.C.

They arrived in Smithers with their first-born daughter Doris in May of 1929. In 1931 they bought the Happy Turner Farm where they raised their family of five children: Doris, Mabel, Jack, Gordon and Roy.

They sold the farm in 1972 and moved into town to retire. Pete passed away in 1982. In 1984 Lottie met and was married to Topsy Robinson until his passing in 1992.

After breaking her wrist in a fall in September 2004, she moved in with her daughter Mabel until May 2005 when she moved in to the Bulkley Lodge where she resided until her passing.

Lottie was an active member of the Glenwood W.I., Senior Citizens’ Association, and the Fall Fair. She loved crafts, sewing, crocheting, needlepoint and quilting. She also enjoyed bowling, crib, cards and dancing. She was a generous, caring person and also a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed in our lives. I hope her strength and courage is in all of us.
