Lillian Dorothy Schrader

Lillian Dorothy Schrad er (nee Olson) passed away on Monday, Aug. 18, surrounded by her loving fami ly and friends.

The Funeral Service was held at 2:00 pm on Aug. 23, 2003, at The Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Smith ers, B.C., with Reverend Daniel Fourni er officiating. Lillian was laid to rest next to her beloved husband Lawrence in the Smithers Cemetery.

Lillian Dorothy Schrad er was born May 17, 1916 to Carl and Anna Ol son in Lomond, Alberta. Lillian married Lawrence Schrader and lived in Rimbey, Alberta for many years. She was very active in the community with the Or der of the East ern Star, Bridge Club and local theatre. She always took time for her children and many visi tors who frequently dropped by.

Lillian and Lawrence lat er moved to B.C. to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In 1986 Lil and Lawrence moved to Smithers, B.C. Lil grew to love the community and became very involved in the lo cal Drama Club,

Ladies Hospital Auxiliary, card play ing, doing her crafts, tending garden, and looking af ter the many visi tors who enjoyed drop ping by.

In 1994 Lillian and Lawrence cel ebrat ed their 50th wedding anniver sary. She so loved her cards that she and son, Allan, were to represent Zone 11 in the “B” event for cribbage at the September 2003 Senior Games in Chilliwack.

Lillian will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Ruth (Frank) Norrie of Surrey, B.C., son Allan (Donna) of Smithers, B.C.; grandchildren Barbara (Dan) Brown of Surrey, B.C., Dale Norrie of Vancouv er, B.C., Lawrence (Eloise) Schrad er of Kamloops, B.C., and Darren (Mar garet) Schrader of Tsawassen, B.C.; great-grandchildren Stacie, Kaylee, Kristen, Luke, Jacob, Emily, and Lillian Angel; great-great-grandson Adam; and many other family members and numerous friends.

She was predeceased by husband Lawrence, grandson Don Norrie, and great grandson in-law Brent Sandaluc.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Bulkley Valley Hospital, Shauna Brooks R.N., Dr. L. Schaefer, the Medi-Vac Crew, and to Wayne Szopa, and staff of R.A. Schrader Funer al Home.

We will all treasure our time with her. She has touched so many hearts and lives...
