Lavergne (Verne) E. SENKPIEL 1924-2015

Verne Senkpiel passed away May 7 in Tsawwassen, BC.

Born in Hazelton, BC, April 5, 1924 to Florence and Samuel Senkpiel, he was predeceased by his brothers Oakley and Sam. Verne started his working life at the silver mine on Rocher de Boule Mountain. After stints in the Navy as a boy-seaman and in the Army serving in Europe in 1943/1944, Verne settled in Prince George and was a longtime resident with careers in carpentry, drafting, and real-estate. As a consummate craftsman, Verne had a fine eye for workmanship and stayed active with his tools for his whole life.

Verne, and his wife Shirley, retired to Tsawwassen in 2005 to be near Doug and to get away from that darn snow! His quick wit and keen sense of humour will be sadly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his loving wife; Shirley, Stepson; Doug Lucier, Nieces; Cindy Clarke and Patrice Budac, Nephew; Rob Senkpiel and many grand-nieces and nephews.

As per Verne's wishes a service will not be held.
