Laurel Anne Roumieu (nee Mahood) passed away July 23, 2016 after a lengthy stay at the Bulkley Lodge. Laurel was born April 29,1923 in Hyder, Alaska, the youngest of three children. Her family settled in Telkwa in 1930 where she grew up and graduated from High School. She spent the rest of her life in Smithers, a place she dearly loved, where she raised her family. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Laurel enjoyed golf, skiing, spending time in her garden and travelling to visit family.
The family wishes to thank her doctors and the entire staff at the Bulkley Lodge who afforded Laurel such dignity and respect while caring for her. There will be a private family memorial at a later date.
