God has a reason for allowing things to happen……

We may never understand his wisdom,

We simply have to

TRUST HIS WILL…

Heather was born July 20, 1961 in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Heather was the youngest of two children born to Lloyd and Mary Porter. She spend her childhood and younger teen years there and in 1982 graduated as a Chemical technician in Ontario.

Hailie was born in 1991 in Whitehorse and in 1993 Heather began working at the Faro Mine in the Yukon. In 1994 Dalton was born in Ontario. After Dalton was born, Heather returned to the Yukon and remained there until finally settling in Telkwa in 1999.

Due to her heath issues she was not able to work as much as she would like although this did not slow her down and found time to raise a family, travel back and forth to Ontario to see her family and worked/volunteered for a number of organizations: Telkwa Library, soup kitchen, member of the Anglican Church Women and Elections BC.

Heather loved her children, she loved to fish, would take in any stray animal that happened to be lucky enough to be found by Heather and loved the outdoors. One of her hobbies was making gift baskets and was always generous in giving them to her friends and neighbours on special occasions.

Heather made many new friends in the Bulkley Valley and kept in contact with her friends in Ontario. Her presence will be sadly missed.

A “Celebration of Life” was held March 8 2016 at the Telkwa Community Hall at 2:00 pm.
