Edith Keilty

1928 Ð 2003

It is with deep sadness that the family of Edith Alma Keilty (nee Nelson) announces her passing, after a brief illness at Vancouver General Hospital on July 13, 2003. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Bror and Elizabeth Nelson and her husband Douglas Reynolds Keilty, who passed away 11 months ago. She is survived by her daughters Maureen (Gary) and Susan Keilty. She also leaves to mourn sisters Pat and Betty Nelson and Anne Stewart. She is also survived by her extended family Les and Lovie Keilty of Vernon, Mabel and Dick of Kelowna and Gladys and Lloyd of Bermuda. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Edith was friendly and caring to all those who knew her. She was active at TOPS, and friends there were very supportive of her after her husband’s death. They too share in her family’s grief. Viewing was held on Friday, July 18, 2003, at 7:00 pm at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey. Service of Remembrance followed on Saturday, July 19, 2003, at 11 am. Cremation followed.

Edith’s wishes were to be interred with her husband in Chase, B.C., date and arrangements to be made at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A very special thank you to the nursing staff at Tower 8A at V.G.H., for all their wonderful care to Edith and their heartfelt understanding to her family.
